With abundant sloughs and small lakes, along with acres of farm fields, ducks and geese are easy for us to find. Our lodge is close to our hunting grounds. Most hunts are within 20 minutes of the lodge. Whether you are hunting ducks or geese, our team works hard to create an unforgettable, world-class adventure that leaves seasoned hunters returning year after year.

Duck Hunting Guides

Meet our expert duck-hunting guides who bring decades of experience and passion to every trip.

Adam

Adam has been the owner and operator of Big Bend since 2022, after buying the business from his father-in-law Reg who operated the business since 1998. Adam and his wife, Rebecca were raised in the area, and returned to raise their son in a small town and take over the family business.

Randy

Randy is an avid waterfowl hunter and trapper, and a former federal game warden. When we are not hosting our clients, Randy can be found in a blind with his brother and son enjoying some personal hunting time!

Leroy

Leroy is from La Ronge, Saskatchewan, where he has been hunting waterfowl in the lakes of the Boreal Forest from his canoe since childhood. In the fall, he joins us in the farmland to take our guests field hunting.

Reg

Reg is the original owner of Big Bend, having opened up shop in 1998. A lifetime hunter, Reg has transitioned into semi-retirement since selling the business to Adam. He is now the Outfit’s master scout, using his knowledge of the land and experience to make sure we always have good hunts on deck.

Tanis

Our Cooks

While we cannot control whether the birds will come into the fields on any given day, we can control the quality of the food that we serve. In this department, our cooks Tanis and Brenda are second to none!

Almost everything served in the lodge is homemade. Aside from being tremendous cooks, they are wonderful hosts, making our guests feel at home from the welcome hugs to the homemade pastries for the drive home.

Our lodge at Big Bend Outfitting sits in a quiet, wide-open part of Saskatchewan — the perfect base for a comfortable stay.

Inside, we have six cozy bedrooms that sleep up to 12 guests, two full bathrooms with showers, and a warm common room with satellite TV — a place to relax, talk about the day, or gear up in peace.

From the moment you arrive, we aim to make you feel welcome and at ease. Our friendly, down-to-earth hospitality ensures you’ll feel right at home, whether it’s your first hunt or your tenth visit.
